One of the best things about Europe is how close everything is. I feel like in Canada, I could drive for 3 days before getting to the next city. Here, everything is close.
So, after our meetup in Strasbourg, I had a few days to travel around before I headed to Norway because my sister was still in Brazil. So, Damianne and I decided to go on a short trip to Colmar, Basel, and Vaduz.
Colmar was a day trip. Just a quick stop between Strasbourg and Basel, but what a cute tiny town.
Ok, it started with heavy rain and me having flashbacks to my trip to Italy (the one back in 2019 I haven’t written about yet).
But after getting soaked, the sun came out and we were able to enjoy.

Le Marché Couvert
Designed in 1865 the Marche Couvert is an cute little market where you can find fresh produce, meat, spices and above all, CHEESE. Lots and lots of cheese.

No pictures of the cheese, tho. I was busy buying it =p
The city is widely said to have inspired the picturesque village where Belle lived in Disney’s Stockholm Syndrome Beauty and the Beast.
Featuring colourful timber-framed houses, cobblestone streets, and romantic canals that resemble scenes from the animated film.
Visitors often find the town’s architecture and atmosphere, particularly its Schwendi Fountain, evoke the magical setting of the classic fairy tale, making it a popular destination for fans.

Little Venice

Tried a local cola soda (zero sugar). It’s not Coca-Cola but way better than Pepsi. Just saying.
