During the month of January, I will be posting (tentatively) one post every day as part of the #bloganuary challenge
Today’s Prompt: What is something you want to achieve this year?
And it is that time of the year again! Bloganuary time!!! Last year I had a lot of fun posting and was able to finish the challenge, so let’s see if I can do it again.
I am a planner. I am not super comfortable with last minute decisions and half-made decisions. While I know plans don’t always go as they should and improvisation is needed (and I’m ok with that), I rather have a plan. So I usually have goals for the new year. Last year I had a whole list, a whole post reflecting on 2021 and goals for 2022.
Looking at it right now, I can see I was able to achieve some of them but obviously not all. I did learn A LOT, I was able to keep my health eating habits, I biked during the summer, I started travelling again, I posted on my other blog (rosiecodes.com), I made a lot of progress in my apprenticeship, I had a lot of fun studying, I started playing WOW regularly again (I was even part of the beta for the new expansion). But a lot of things I was not able to achieve. 2022 was not the easiest year. A lot of wonderful things happened but a bunch of not great things did too.
Throughout the year, the one thing I heard over and over again from different people is that I am too hard on myself. So I’m gonna compromise here and say that’s ok I did not get everything in my list done.
2023 has the potential to be a great year. I will keep focusing on studying and completing my apprenticeship, I have my sabbatical coming up and some exciting trips. So I’m not making a list this year. I just want to enjoy the ride and try my best.
Happy new year and I really hope 2023 is a wonderful one!
