HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Yeah, I am almost one month late, I know. I am going to go fully cliche and say I don’t know where the time went. I mean, it was Christmas 2 days ago and now it’s almost February.
Things got a little crazy at work right before the holidays (good crazy) and time just went puff. 💥
I will start this year, like every other, TRYING to blog more (long pause for laughing). It’s been one year since I went social media – semi – free (I still have my Tumblr account). And I’m not gonna lie, I miss having a place to post pics. But I say that every year, so please feel free to ignore me.
A colleague at work posted something inviting us to blog more. We work for Automattic, after all. So we started sharing blog links and tips. Another colleague mentioned they have been posting weekly for a while now and I will give that a try. I know this will last until my next trip comes up, but I’ll try.
I have a BUNCH of trips I never posted about and a gazillion pictures, so let’s focus on those 😉
I will start with my most recent trip to London last year. 2024 was not a year filled with trips, but it was my first time traveling alone with my younger sister. I mean, we traveled as a family, but just the two of us, was the first time. We were in Norway for the holidays with my family and decided to visit a friend who lives in London.

Of course it was sunny, because every time I go to London is nice and sunny so I don’t believe when people say London is rainy and gray. 😏

And there is no London without a visit to the National Gallery and my favorite paintings.

Also, there’s no London without visiting the Tardis. It’s a mandatory stop for my family.

This time we also visited the Who Shop for some nice Doctor Who souvenirs. It’s a nice store with lot’s of cool things but they don’t let you take pics inside 🤷♀️ So I will leave it to your imagination.

We also went all the way to Richmond just to see the filming locations of Ted Lasso. It’s cute, but it was a loooooong subway trip.

Another thing we did was to see the Lion King. I am a BIG fan of musicals but not a big fan of the Lion King. Yeah, it’s ok. I like the soundtrack and the Super Nintendo game (which was ridiculously hard BTW). The animation is fine, but I don’t get the hype.
The musical came to Toronto a few times. I’ve been to NY several times and London a few times. I never cared to go see the musical.
BUT I got completely obsessed with it after watching a YouTube video of the Broadway cast rehearsing it for the first time after the pandemic.
So my sister (who loves the lion king) and I decided to go and BOY, was I wrong. The opening act alone pays the ticket. It’s so freaking amazing I can’t even put it into words.

Other than that we just walked around the city, and had fun together. We visited the Google office since our friend works there and it was a fun experience. Although I am 100% a work from home advocate, I have to admit it’s an experience.

London still holds a high place in my list of best cities in the world. Never disappoints.
