Laughter is the best medicine

During the month of January, I will be posting (tentatively) one post every day as part of the #bloganuary challenge
Today’s Prompt: What makes you laugh?

Let me start talking about what doesn’t make me laugh: racist, sexist, fatphobic, LGBTQAI+phobic jokes. That doesn’t make me laugh. I really like F.R.I.E.N.D.S but it’s a TV Show that did not age well. I was rewatching the other day – I leave it in the background while I cook or do my nails – and there are a LOT of amazing jokes and scenes. All the sexist, homophobic and fatphobic jokes could have been left out and the show would still be hilarious. A lot of people think you need to be belittling someone to be funny but this could not be further away from the truth. There’s absolutely no need for that.

I have recently watched Ted Lasso (Thank you N and J) and re-watched it here in Norway with my sister, and that is proof that you can be funny without attacking people. The show is amazing in every aspect and made me laugh over and over again.

Now, to what makes me laugh… clever, witty jokes. Sarcasm (yes, I’m weird, remember?). My nieces’ comments and observations (they are simply awesome). Lately, I’ve been playing a game called Unspottable with my sister on Nintendo Switch and it makes me laugh all the time, like, hard! Talking to my sisters makes me laugh because they are awesome and smart. Playing Drawphone over zoom with my teammates. Any zoom call or convos with my teammates because they are hilarious and amazing. Talking with my friends, in general, makes me laugh. I have some pretty funny and truly wondrous friends 🤣

They say laughter is the best medicine. If it is, I will live 200 years <3

PS: I am struggling to find the cover images to use in these posts. I like to use my own pictures, but I don’t have anything that makes sense and goes with some of the themes of the challenge, so I’m using random pictures I took. Deal with that 🤣 I also take about 30 minutes to write the post and 45 hours to think about the title.
